Tuesday, January 9th

Here are some things to know:

The next two days, students will be working on a small microscope poster entirely in class (not taken home for homework). They will need to put a picture of the microscope and some interesting/basic facts on the poster. In preparation for that, our scholars are given the option to bring a picture and some basic facts of the microscope of their choice for class tomorrow. I will also provide some research, but if students would like to do their own thing or find their own picture, they are welcome to do so. I have attached the rubric below.

We are reviewing decimals today and tomorrow before we dive into new material. There is no math homework today or tomorrow.

Today, we read chapter 1 of The Secret Garden. Students were given time to work on Activities 1-4 in their SG packets in class, so those should be finished.

As a reminder, we have our history test next Tuesday. The study guides will be given out at the end of this week, and students will be given time to work on them during history time on Friday.

I had a parent ask about what math facts our scholars should be practicing. I think the most important facts to be studying are the multiplication tables up to 12x12. Here is a link to an online multiplication flashcards set that goes up to 13x13.
